Trainee Workshop / Service Engineer

DJB Labcare Ltd is currently seeking a trainee workshop / service engineer to join our busy team. This post will involve the service and repair of laboratory equipment within our workshop and at customers’ premises. Full training will be provided throughout although the ideal candidate will already possess a good basic knowledge of electronics and electro-mechanical processes. The trainee will be mentored by the Service Manager who will also provide training and monitor development. On successful completion of the training, the candidate will be a fully qualified engineer and will join our workshop or field based team.

This role includes:

• In-house workshop repairs

• On site training in the South East and Midlands area, shadowing our senior field engineers.

• The routine preventive maintenance of laboratory centrifuges, incubators and other laboratory equipment

• Completion of electronic service reports

The successful candidate will have:

• A good basic understanding of electronics and electro-mechanical processes

• Computer literacy

• Good communication skills

• The ability to use initiative, be self-reliant and have pride in their work.

• Hard working with drive, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

• A full, clean UK driving license is preferred
